Workforce Development Program

We know how critical it is for newcomers to find their first job in America. For many immigrants, it takes more than 90 days to secure a job and make enough money to pay all their living costs. With the ultimate goal of economic self-sufficiency, AHCD's team supports newcomers in their efforts to seek employment. Our workforce development program provides support services for newcomers in their employment search. We will work with each person to identify their background and skills, and then match them with the best job opportunities.

In addition, the program offers a career pathway service that prepares Haitian and other eligible populations for employment in fields with growth potential. This program has options for skilled professionals to return to prior professions or launch a new career, as well as options for individuals who are working in entry-level positions who want to establish a career with growth opportunities.

Services include but are not limited to:

  • Provide free one-on-one consultation

  • Individualized mapping of employment goals and skills

  • Resume writing and interview prepping

  • Employment skills training and job coaching

  • Placement in full- or part-time employment

  • Follow up with Employers and Employees

  • Job upgrades

" Gives newcomers targeted services to place them on their pathway to Success."
