WELCOME TO AHCD

Action for Haitian Community Development, Inc. (AHCD) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Malden, Massachusetts, dedicated to empowering immigrants and strengthening inclusive communities throughout Greater Boston. Through education, workforce development, financial empowerment, civic engagement, and culturally responsive services, AHCD helps individuals and families achieve economic stability, foster community connections, and build brighter futures. Together, we are creating opportunities, promoting belonging, and strengthening the communities we all call home.

OUR MISSION

We exist to uplift immigrant families by removing barriers to opportunity, fostering trust, and creating pathways to long-term stability. Guided by the principles of Social, Civic, and Economic Integration, we empower individuals and families to thrive and contribute to stronger, more inclusive communities.

At AHCD, social integration begins with trust—and grows through knowledge. We create spaces where Haitian and immigrant families feel safe, respected, and connected. Through culturally responsive services, wellness programs, and educational initiatives, we foster a sense of belonging that honors heritage while building bridges across cultures.

Civic integration is about empowerment. AHCD equips community members with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to engage in public life. From advocacy training and voter education to system navigation and leadership development, we help immigrants become active participants in shaping the policies and institutions that affect their lives. We believe that informed voices are powerful agents of change.

Economic integration means more than finding a job—it's about building stability, opportunity, and generational wealth. AHCD provides workforce readiness programs, financial literacy workshops, and entrepreneurial support tailored to immigrant experiences. We help individuals gain the skills and resources to thrive economically, while reinforcing the value of ownership, agency, and long-term growth.

5TH ANNUAL KIDS WEEK

AHCD is proud to collaborate with D-ONE Soccer League to make this event more than just a soccer tournament. It is an opportunity to bring together hundreds of immigrant families, children, and community members for a day of recreation, education, and access to valuable services.
